Mount Edgecombe Tourism Information
Tourism Information

Mount Edgecombe has grown in the past two decades from a sleepy village amongst the sugarcane plantations of KwaZulu-Natal Province to an upmarket residential area with two magnificent golfing estates. Named after the Earl of Mount Edgecombe, originally from Cornwall, it is just 3km inland from Umhlanga just north of Durban. Mount Edgecombe thus offers visitors the best of all worlds while residing in a sedate estate. In addition to Umhlanga's many leisure attractions, Mount Edgecombe is close to the centre's corporate complexes. The N2 and N3 freeways are also nearby, providing immediate access to Durban's hotspots and commercial and industrial areas as well as the North and South Coasts, Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands. Mount Edgecombe is therefore ideal for holidaymakers and visiting business executives alike. They are very well catered for by top-class B&B guesthouses and excellent boutique hotels, mostly right on the golfing estates. An unusual feature of Mount Edgecombe is the Shri Mariamman Temple which attracts Hindu pilgrims due to miracles reported there.
